Some few things I know are it's got no suspension so it can be rather uncomfortable, and cars tend to slide off the rear end of the top floor. This will remove any changes to the bindings, and possibly solve your issue. Go to Documents/BeamNG.drive/settings and delete the inputmaps folder. This isn't a full revamp of it, just updated enough to get it working. Load that trailer, then go to Options > Controls > Vehicle Specific Bindings and make sure you are pressing the same keys.
